Chennai, Jan 18
(TruthDive): Santhanam – Powerstar‘s Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasiaya (KLTA)
released for Pongal has become a super hit movie. KLTA is produced by
Ramanarayanan’s Sri Thenandal Films and Santhanam’s Handmade Films and
distributed by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giants.
Udhayanidhi Stalin has tweeted the
box-office collections of the film – “KLTA first 3 days collection for
TN theatrical is Rs 6,80,65,560 and distributor share is 3,75,98,768!”
The film was released on January 13 in
205 screens across Tamil Nadu. The movie received excellent reviews from
film critics. Good word of mouth from the first batch of audiences who
enjoyed the movie, has attracted more number of family audiences to the
theatres.
Seeing the increasing crowd, the makers
have planned to increase the screens. From this Friday (Jan 18) the
movie will be screened in more screens in multiplexes, which would
eventually make more profit. KLTA has emerged as the first biggest hit
of 2013.
Reports say the film was made at a cost
of Rs 3 – 3.5 crore and the film has recovered the production cost in
the first three days itself.
The main highlights of the movie are its decent story line and its comedy combo of Santhanam- Powerstar Srinivasan.
Other factors which have led KLTA to a
grand success could be the failure of Karthi’s Alex Pandian and the
last-minute confusions over release date of Vishal’s Samar. These facts
made the movie goers to divert their attention towards KLTA, which
eventually assured an excellent collection on the opening day.
The interesting title, which has been
lifted from the popular Cadburys ad, suits the film perfectly and has
attracted audiences considerably. Above all, the good word of mouth has
made wonders in the box office in the following days.
Along with Santhanam and Power star, the
movie also features Sethu, Vishaka Singh, VTV Ganesh, Kovai Sarala and
others in the cast.
